Well I've been driving my msp for 3 weeks now and the clutch blew out going around a turn in 2nd. Didn't slip, showed no signs of going, just made an awful noise and I lost all gears. Towed to dealership and they said i need a new clutch and flywheel. Dealership I bought it from is telling me to screw because its a wearable item. I bought an extended warranty and that doesn't cover it either.

Needless to say I'm a little pissed off...The dealership wants 1400 to fix it. They can screw for that price. I think I might order the fidanza flywheel/exedy clutch combo from crossover and have it put in somewhere else. so that 650 + shipping, and then labor. What am I looking at roughly for a labor cost?

This thing has already been a pain in my ass...if it wasn't the hawtness I'd drive it into a tree!!!

Should check your LSD while you're at it too.

I can guarentee it's your lsd that blew and not your clutch. Get the new one weld reinforced on the casing. Protegegarage.com sells them new already welded! What exactly happened when it went. Your flywheel should be fine to save on some cost but the lsd is just over $600 if I remember right!

I certainly hope he's already gotten this taken care of considering this thread is over 4 months old...

Oops I didn't see that! I am sure he got majorly jacked! How the hell does a clutch and flywheel go without any notice??
