So I've had my 2002 Mazda Protege LX for a while and although I drive it every day I would like to play with it a little and make it faster. I would love to turbo charge it but thats not happening any time soon as I already have an eagle talon TSI that takes a shit ton of money and goes through parts left and right. So basically my question to everyone out there is what can I do to my little PR to make it quicker without turbo charging it right now. Ex. Intake, Bigger Throttle body, exhaust ect. Thanks in advance for the help and the info, Ashton.

Dont try to make the protege quicker. It will be more cost effective in the long run to just turbo it. Thats why I suggest working on the suspension. You already have a TSi for speed. Why not get a corner carving machine out of the protege?

Yeah I'm thinking I'm agreeing with you, I should just focus on my TSI it's a fast ass car I just need to actually work on it instead of letting my bro do all the work. So tell me suspension wise and mount wise (mine are gone all three) what can i do to make it ride smooth

Allright suspension wise. First I recommend the racing beat rear sway bar..which can be found for cheap used in the for sale section. Next any type of lowering spring *not really any, but most springs that lower your car add to performance* Then I would get some nice tires. I ride with Falken Ziex and am pretty impressed, but I really have no expertise in this area. Last step would be new struts. Tokico blues or illuminas are your best option in the performance category other than coilovers.
And finally for your motor mount questions check out this thread..where members are rating there motor mount experience. I can vouch for you on the crappy motor mounts. Mine are all torn completely..except maybe the rear since I havent checked back there.

Well typically thats what happens when you go fast, you tend to blow shit up in those cars lol. Especially pushing 30 lbs of boost
