What gear change feels the best/worst on your TWM SS?

Best: For me changing from second to third feels sooo nice, i actually get a small orgasm when the gear clicks into third.


Worst: 5th to 6th is da worst, not too smooth, kinda hard to get around to. If I'm not paying my full attention to changing gears, sometimes i accidentally go down to 4th instead of 6th.

2-3 is the shift that feels most improved for me as well. still grind third gear every now and then at wot though

2-3 sucks for me i cant tell u how many times i have tried to speed shift and it kicks it out of 3rd
my best gear switch is 3-4 its smooth i wish all the gears lined up like that. but hey thats just how my car is

Sleeping, it is "kicking it out"? You have a TWM SS w/Bushings? The stock shifter was horrible for speed shifts into 3rd. Since my TWMSSw/Bushings I have not missed a shift yet.

since you should not be speedshifting on this type of tranny, i'd say you are doing allright.

Why would you not speed shift on this tranny? Done correctly there is no difference and does not render any harm. I know there area heck of a lot of people out there grinding the shift to third with the stock shifter doing far more harm to the Synchros.

True that, I did miss going into 3rd a couple times before I installed my twm ss and bushings. Haven't had that problem since. Great product. Well worth buy

no me i guess i got the short end of the stick on this one i never not once had a problem with the stock shifter. its the twm one and its from 2-3. if i still had the stock one i would put it back in. but thats just me. i also speed shift the hell out my car, well every friday night.

When I shift, I don't force it into gear. I just apply gentle pressure and it just slides in. No speedshifting. Shifting really quickly and forcing it can put a little undue wear on the synchros. The only time I have some trouble is when slowing to a complete stop and putting it in 1st (a little notchy), but most cars do that, well mazdas atleast. Hell toeing from 3rd to 2nd is a little tricky too, due to the gearing. Needs a little more gas than just a blip.

Best would be 3rd to 4th and vice versa, I call them my money maker gears.
