Hi everyone, Im a new CWP speed 3 owner. I bought the car new about a month ago. Today I decided to take off the side moldings. Everything went nice and smooth, it cleaned up very easyily but there are few blue marks that look like a permanent marker and I cant get them off. I dont know but it seems like someone marked the spots where to glue the moldings.
Here are some close up photos. Any ideas how to take that off?

thanks for the reply. So far i tried hair spray and epoxy dry eraser marker but it didnt work. im gonna give a try goo gone, maybe that will work. Mr clean erasaer its not for polished material so i think i save it for last if nothing else works..

you can try to get it buffed off, or you can try to clay it off.

the very first thing i'd try is Goo Gone or some other citrus cleaner. then try clay. if all else fails, it should be able to be polished out. hopefully... good luck man!

thanks for the ideas but nothing seems to work plus I have been told by two body shops that those marks are intended in the paint and theres not much that can be done (sad2)

I think I used the right word (english is my 2nd language) but what i meant is that the marks are inside the paint. I tried clay bar, goo gone, compound, alcohol but nothing! my last hope is getting it buffed off. Its not much but it bothers me that its there.

^ wow, that's weird man. is that something that was underneath the moldings? so if you reapplied them, you wouldn't see it?
i actually like the moldings on our cars. i think it splits up the doors well.

yes it was underneath and I couldnt see it before. I like it without moldings thou but if that keeps buging me then I might put the moldings back on.

CWPspeed3 took his off and had similar marks. I was able to polish them out. There was a lil left after the polishing but it is all gone now, 3 weeks later.

It almost looks like in the 2nd pic that the panels are slightly different in color. Is it possible maybe there was an ding or something on the car and it was repaired by the dealership at some point before it was sold?. It would explain why the moulding needed to be marked on the door as when a door is repaired, the mouldling and all other exterior parts need to be removed for the refinish. otherwise, I've never seen anything like that before.

good luck

you might actually be correct. When I went to a body shop the guy even pointed it out that both doors have slightly different color. I wonder if anything would showup if I ran carfax on my car. Gotta check it out.

holy shit...this is a good call...
the dealerships only have to disclose this information if the damage is over a certain amount. i can't recall the amount.
but if the moldings got fucked up, or a door ding, this would explain a lot

Bad news with this is it'll only show up on carfax or any vehicle history report if it was claimed, if the dealership fixed it in house without reporting it to their insurance company, it won't show.

It is minor but if this is in fact that case, I'd be annoyed, but I'm also over anal. Good luck man, sorry for your troubles.
