so during hurricane fay i was on the way home from the doctor. it was raining hard and i couldnt see very well. my car went straight through a HUGE puddle at 50 mph and half the car (up to the bumper) was under water and water got sucked up into the engine from the Cold Air Intake resulting in bent rods/ lots of other shit, thus a blown engine..
if insurance totals the car, which I hope it does, i can get a new different car, or else I am going to just get a new engine.. im not really big into tuning anymore so i would just leave the engine stock on the protege, but who knows what ill do if i get a new car..
basically i was really pissed it happened but it taught me a lesson to not get a Cold air intake that low and if i do get one to spend the extra 30 or 50 bucks on a water bypass valve 4 sure... or just get a Short Ram Intake next time..
i just came here to rant and spew off some of my shit thats been happening .. i was just about to go to college to so i had to take my dads truck to college and my dad is driving a dodge charger that he rented.. im gonna have to get a new car ASAP like this week so my dad doesnt have to keep paying for the rental.. its cheap b/c of the insurance only until they officialy total it or do what they are gonna do...
2day was the first day of classes and i took too much adderall .. sorry for the long post but its the aderralls fault..

take it easy and one love
high til i die

Sorry to hear as well!! I installed my Injen as a CAI, but, after one rain storm and realizing how low it sat, i immediately converted it to SRI. And, after shorting out my fogs due to driving home from work in the freaking flooding last week, i am SUPER thankful I was not running a CAI.

Hope all works out for you though!!!

i needed a car that would last me throughout college without any problems.. honda's are supposed to be reliable.. im not modding it or anything, so i dont know why you guys are on my nuts about it..

its just some stereotype about honda's that have no backing except for the kidds that rice out civics and shit..

i doubt anyone can honestly tell me that going from an 03 protege with 60k on it to an 05 accord v6 with 40k on it is not a decent upgrade

You've got yourself a really good upgrade there. I don't get why everyone is on your case about it. My parents have an Accord, and the quality blows any mazda out of the water.
