SS AFC install question need help!!!!???

I have a quick question about the ss afc install. I already put it in my car but I get a code for no activity in o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1. The pink/blue wire is the o2 sensor signal wire. Now when I cut that wire to wire in the afc, the pink/blue wire was covered in grey tubing and inside that tubing was a silver wire with no insulation. So in other words, grey tubing, silver wire with no insulation in it also with pink/blue wire in tube. Now is that silver wire in the same tubing a ground wire for the o2 circuit or something?? I have that wire soldered with the o2wire with the afc. Someone who did the install successful please chime in. Thank you

Re-check the pin out, I had basically the same problem, because it's easy to hook up that wire to the wrong one coming off the ECU. I think I remember having a problem and the right wire was actually the one right next to the one I tapped. I had misread the ECU pin out and spliced into the wrong wire.

That's where I would start.

I'm pretty sure it is the correct the pin since after I cut it i get no activity for that sensor. I'm starting to think that extra small wire in that tubing is maybe a ground. Can anyone confirm this?

Don't splice into to the gray covering. Got closer to the ECU connector where its just an insulated wire.
