View Full Version : Power hickup at 3250rpm. Anyone else???

I have noticed that when accelerating at any thottle level, I get a hickup as if the engine was misfiring or losing boost for a split second right around 3200-3500 rpms. It kind of feels like the power management the ecu does in 1st and 2nd gear under heavy acceleration kicks in for a split second and then disengages.
It happens all the time now in any gear. The boost is strong past that rpm range.
Any one notice this or have any ideas???

This only happens to me in first right after I wash my car around those rpms. I figure since boost is building it sucks water through the filter and hits the maf. Only does it one time though. Kind of weird now that you have brought this topic up

Can't say I've ever noticed that. Any mods?

Water getting sucked in through the filter after a wash? That doesn't sound very safe? Hydrolock?

I would think its related to your fuel pump, but take it to mazda.

No mods, completely stock with about 800 miles.

it's safe. i'm not soaking the intake just might be enough water to suck just a drop through and hit the maf when i give it some gas. hydrolock is when the fiilter is completely submerged.

I get a similar feeling when I'm cruising at low RPMs in fifth and start to accelerate ... I figure I'm overloading and I should have downshifted more ... anyone else in fifth gear?
