Rear Hatch Light

I just noticed tonight when I opened the rear hatch, the lights did not illuminate like when you open the doors. Is this the same in everyone's five?

There is a specific light for the hatch area that can be switched on and off. Yours is probably switched off or burned out. Switch it on and it will automatically illuminate when you open the hatch.

Where is that switch located? I would think that it would be with the back seat light.

It is part of the light. It moves up and down and is on the side of the light closest to the rear of the vehicle.
