ABS code 51 (and 14)

My ABS and Brake lights went on recently. The brake fluid level is fine. I read the codes using the method described in the service manual (short a pin in the diagnoistic box to ground and watch the ABS light blink). The codes i got were code 14 and 51. Code 14 makes sense, it says something about the left rear wheel sensor. Code 51 is what has me stumped. It says "Open circuit of
fail-safe relay" One of the possible causes is a bad fuse, but the fuse is fine. I did try taking out the ABS fuse at one point, could that have set the code and now it won't go away?

Basically I want to make sure that replacing the left rear wheel sensor will actually fix the problem and that the code 14 is what I should be worried about. Does anyone know what the code 51 usually refers to?

Don't have the codes but it just happens on these cars...

Both lights came on in my 02 ES, and the left rear abs sensor was replaced under warranty. 2 yrs later/recently the same lights means the right rear. DIY gifted me with the bolts breaking off for the lower part, so I have a drill/tap coming...

Had this problem, and just as rs39 stated, replaced the left rear sensor and it was corrected. The part only cost $80 cdn from the dealer, and it's the first time mine went since purchasing her in 03 (and the ex put her through hell).
