Corksport Testpipe and SU shifter bushings added on page #2

Video of CorkSport testpipe added on page #3

Just purchased my 2008.5 metropolitan grey mica MS3 sport about a month ago and love everything about it (well maybe not the notchy gear box). So far I only have the SU rear mount as far as mods go, but enough talking, pics for clicks...

The SU mount really sets off the pics nicely.

Congrats on a new car - you'll love it even more once you done breaking it in and realize its full potential, even in stock form. Look around the forum here and you will see some solutions to that notchy gearshift.
your car looks just like my Cosmic blue on the pics... you sure you got Grey?

I'm from Sunrise and had to check out my old area code. Enjoy the car, and maybe bring it up to the GA twisties to have some real fun with it. FL is flatter than two day old PBR.

I'm always around the sunrise area, some nice cars out there. I'd love to see some real twisties outside of florida.

Added few goodies over the past week.

first was a MS CAI:
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c265/xnbastar1669/000_0471.jpg

Sound: the difference in sound was noticed as soon as i pulled out of the neighborhood. the famous "woosh" sound is very noticeable, as well as the stock bpv. the stock bpv almost sounds like a sneeze under full boost now. the first tank of gas after the install went pretty fast after i was spooling up a blowing off at everything possible.

Performance: at first i really didn't notice so much of a performance gain, that was up until i remembered to reset the ecu (hand). after that i noticed that i could be going 20 mph in 2nd gear, step on it, and have the tires break loose before the shift to third. third seems to pull a little bit harder according to the butt dyno.

next up, SU shifter bushings:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c265/xnbastar1669/000_0472.jpg

stock bushing, notice the metal piece is slightly bent after 8000 miles
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c265/xnbastar1669/000_0481.jpg

IMO the bushing are an OK mod, but for $30 you can't really expect much. daily driving feels a little nicer, and during "spirited" driving gears seem to slip into place a little bit easier. the notchy feeling between gears isn't as noticeable, but it's still there

That sleeve looks like that brand new. All four of mine are a different shape and size.

Yes, all the metal sleves are different shapes and sizes, its kind of weird, wonder what their reasoning behind which one going where was.

its cosmic blue.

Its a bad white balance with poor lighting.

Nice looking car. Wish that color came in the 08 because I dont like the 08.5 interior.

Well today the corksport test pipe went in and all I can say is WOW!

the actual piece itself looks to be of good quality
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c265/xnbastar1669/000_0482.jpg

the stock cat tucked away in the garage, where it belongs
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c265/xnbastar1669/000_0483.jpg

nice and restrictive
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c265/xnbastar1669/000_0485.jpg

Sound: at idle the exhaust sounds nearly stock. daily driving the tone is deeper and maybe a little louder. you really hear the difference when you get on it, it sounds deeper and louder, but not overly.

Performance: IMO the test pipe netted more gains than did my CAI, of course that's completly subjective without any numbers to back it. traction in first and second is becoming an issue with both of those "power" mods.

Something worth mentioning is that the fitment was TERRIBLE. the provided bolts were too long and there were issues getting it to fit to the stock cat-back. if you have a stock downpipe/cat-back and want a test pipe, look into the SU piece

it might be just that my eyes are going bad but that pic of your CAI looks like the lower portion of it is not mounted right, There is a tab that comes off the tubing that should connect it to your frame with a rubber piece, and I see that tab sticking out to the left towards your shift linkage....

I found a new difference from 08 to 09! On my 09 the shift weight is painted black........thats like 30 hp atleast. How did that Corksport Race Pipe mate up to the stock CB and DP?

Edit: Sorry I just read or original statement above, thanks.

i believe your talking about the vibe mount, if so it's because i bought the piece used and never got it.

There are many post about the poor fitment with the CS pipe where it connects to the stock cat back.
