A/C problem help needed

so i have had this problem for a while.

the a/c continues to blow on my feet even when the control knob says it not supposed to.

yes. i checked to make sure the wire is connected from the back of the unit to the white turny knob that changes the setting.

i also changed the setting manually, by turning the white knob under the steering wheel, and air continues to blow on my feet.

i am thinking it may be due to something that covers the vents being stuck.

if anyone can help me please post.

or is there a way to just close the vent by the feet??

I notice if i am wearing sandals that even with the bottom vents 'off' there is still leakage (cold air) on my feet. Not blowing - just 'leaking'. It is annoying enough that i just take an envelope, fold it, and slide it between the plastic trim and the vent. The folded tab makes it easy to just pull it back out when winter comes...
