Ok Ive looked around trying to get this solved before posting. I seafoamed my car about two days ago. Got in the car this morning to get new tires, the car had a noticeable rough idol. Drove the car maybe 5 minutes it started stumbling and almost died a few times. I got a check engine light. Took it to advance and they said mulitple misfires. Last time I had this it was deff the packs. Plugs are about 6 months old, packs and wires were installed in November. I had half a tank of gas and havent got gas in about a week or so. Any ideas? I put some lucas in the tank and filled up. Now it just smokes alittle. Like its still burning off the seafoam. (encourage

New packs. They can fail.

Oh I agree completely but, wouldnt I get the CEL again after it was cleared out of the system?

Do you mean that once the misfire hits again it would flash after it was initially cleared?

Yes it may trigger but it may also take a while. Pull the spark plugs and check the gap, reinstall, and swith the igintion coils to the opposite sides. This helped mine throw the CEL quicker. Not sure why though.

and then whe it still misfires, A. go to the dealer and get real coils all are not created equal, B. do a compression test and see which cylinder your losing

I've had a similar problem for quite some time. I've replaced the spark plugs X2, the ICV, TPS, MAF, coil packs, EGR, vacuum lines...and still the same shit. Welcome to the club.

I wouldn't be swapping parts again before eliminating other possibilities such as vacuum leak or cam position sensor may be shot. Go over every line and connection. Tap the sensor lightly at idle and see if the rpm changes.

cps will throw a cel. do a compression test

And a vacuum leak will throw the random misfire cell. Eliminate the simple things before you throw on new parts that you might not need is all I'm saying.

I drove the car today over 300 miles no prob. I changed the cam and crank senor about two months ago. Im thinking that I didnt burn out all the sea foam before I let the car set for almost aweek.
