Hey guys,
I just arrived in California from Taiwan...(12 hours on a plane is a b*tch, but I got hella lucky. Our economy deluxe was full, so I got upgraded to Business class... (eekdance) ) Well anyways...I was talking to my uncle about my vehicle choice and he advised me not to get a Mazda. He said go for a Honda or a Toyota. Well...I dislike both those brands. But his argument was that Mazda's resale value was horrible...that in a few years, I wouldn't be able to sell it for much money. What do you guys think..?

MSPs are still worth about 10-14 on dealer lots...

depends on condition obviously. I found a sick yellow MSP for 7800 on a lot here in Northridge! I was about to scoop that nup but it had 86K on it which means the car was driven pretty good and probably worn out a lot

Depends n how you think.
I dont buy thing thinking resale value (unless you plan to make money). I only buy things with my best intrest as in, for me to enjoy and have the weay i want. So forget resale value. Just get what you want and enjoy it.!!!!!!

There are wayy too many toyotas and hondas in California...There are even more of them in classifieds and used dealer lots....What does that calculate? Lower resale value ....I've only seen 1 maybe 2 or so Mazda's in the weekly classifieds....Mazda hold their value much better than toyota or honda.

welcome to cali. resale value? supply versus demand. not many MS3's around, so that will help keep the value up. besides, you in the car biz? no...buy a car you like. dont drive a crappy car, just because you are worried about how much it depreciates. they all go down.

You do know that the 3 is one of the best selling compact cars on the market right?

Yeah, I've been running errands around like crazy the few days I've been here. Barely see any Mazdas...I think only 1 Mazdaspeed. As for Toyotas and Hondas...I couldn't miss them if I wanted to. Same goes for Ford Trucks...

or even worse.... a SCION! especially a TC. Those things run around like cockroaches in my apartment... haha
Toyotas are good cars tho, I had a widebody MR2 and loved it, very reliable. But yes there are few Mazdas in my area. I may have seen 6-7 speed3 total in or around my area on the streets. And I live in the Northridge area which is heavily populated
