0 to 60 times

i did a 0 to 60 run this afternoon, dsc and tcs off, weather 93 degree plus humidity. last time i try it came out to 5.6.

I think this goes back to the argument of the Dash Hawk not being accurate for 1/4 mile times. Having said that, I think with those mods your 1/4 mile time is actually better than that.

Yesterday on the way back from my friends house I found this nice little back road. I decided what the hell lets try some 0-60s. With my friend recording the times here is what I got:

1: 6.8
2: 6.6
3: 6.7

I can't launch for shit!

Anyone have tips for me, granted the road was a little up hill and gravel out the ass.

My main problem is I get wheel spin out the ass and it carries on over to 2nd.

I launch at a little under 2900 rpms.

Can't offer great advice on launching because I consider myself a shitty laucher, but I did find these 2 threads about it. Hope that helps.

Launch at 2k or lower, don't "pop" the clutch. Feather the clutch and gas to try to get outta 1st with little spin. I think its all about getting outta first then the car really goes.

I see so many stupid hondas spinning 1st and 2nd half way down the track. LET OFF THE F*#%ing GAS IDIOTS! You just gotta find the right balance, but i think riding the clutch a little over just releasing it works best.

did you take tcs off? i got 6.1 before taking tcs and dsc off. i usually launch at around 2700, dont drop the clutch let it slip a little bit , you still going to get a little wheel spin in 1st and 2nd gear but it wont be that bad. it takes a little bit of practice, i used to chirp 1st, 2nd , and 3rd on my s/c mustang gt when i wanted too, but i also knew how to launch that car pretty well.

I wouldn't trust the Dashhawk for accurate 1/4 mile times due to wheel spin. Have you taken it to the track by any chance and gotten a 1/4 mile time there?

Spinning your wheels will not produce a faulty speed/time/distance calculation. If your speedometer changes when you spin your wheels than there is something wrong with your vehicle.It was my understanding that the sensors were at your back wheels only, but it appears they are on all four wheels as they have multiple functions.

Can anyone else back up what I'm saying or am I the only one that holds this opinion?

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I also think it's a shame if people go around thinking the DashHawk is an accurate measuring tool for 1/4 mile or 0-60 times.
