Installed a new wga, next day on stock boost I had a screach n then a pop at 4g rpm. And motor has been ticking. installed new head, had all valves adjusted, and the motor still ticks? It has very little power but does boost. will fight n bog in rpm's until 5500. when it hits that it has all the power in the world. and when cold the car runs great n boosts but still ticks! Does anyone have any suggestions??? I am completely confused!!!

was it a brand new head? or used? also.. did you overtorque the head bolts.. when i first put mine back together, they were slightly overtightened and i had a tick! then i removed the head, changed gasket and ensured they were not over tightened.. what makes me think you are too tight is that it has no power until a certain rpm, then it goes like crazy, if you did overtighten it could have popped intake side of the head gasket and it wouldnt smoke at all and you would hit the power at a random spot like you are.. its the Same thing a Toyota MR2 i had was doing.

Cam timing been double checked?

eh timing is all good, It was a used head with 44k on it that I had pressure tested and tested great. And Im pretty sure I did not overtighten the head bolts. had a brand new torque bar n angle guage. I have done a few more tests including a compression test and I have a shy #2 cylinder.
compression goes as follows 1-4 left to right
1-180lbs, 2-165lbs, 3-185lbs, 4-195lbs
Now im not sure but I believe I have a crank bearing or wrist pin that fried or something. I believe with the compression of all the pistons 2 being lower than others that the crank is slightly tilted d

did you make sure to put the lifters back in the correct spot (the ones they came out of) that can cause a fluttering or ticking noise that will increase with RPMs. they are shimmed individually for their specific spot.
