mine idles at that same rpm. it may be the egr valve. try to do the "clean egr valve" fix before you pay a gajillion dollars for tranny work

no i didnt yet. all i did was run to the shop that placed in my replacement engine (62k miles) and asked if they covered my tranny on a warranty and no.. they didnt :[ ran to the nearest tranny shop and they took it for a spin.. said like my tranny fluid smells a little burnt and my 3rd gear is sliping. and it seems to get worse =/

Yeah, 600 is normal for me, I have a UDP and light weight pullies. For you? Its a little low, but that shouldn't have anything to do with a tranny issue, nor should needing to top off the oil?

well all i really know is how its acting lol, it lunges at 2k rpm when driving it stutters when idling, and slides threw 3rd as if im reving in netural and the cel light is on sooo not really sure.. but i do have to get oil tomorrow i just took it for a nother block long drive and almost died on me >.>

i think if u pop the hood open, there's a little sticker on the top side that says what ur idle is. i'm not sure if it was there but i remember seeing a sticker on my car that says what normal idle is.

don't let them fuck you over. I had the same exact code and it was the EGR valve. 150 dollar part that you can change yourself I believe quite easily.

yea I had the same deal. I was in college though so I wasn't able to check my car or even go to the dealership so they could show me what they thought the problem was. I got swindled out of 900 bucks in the end when all along I was quite sure it was the EGR valve and I could've changed it out myself.

Yours sounds like the same thing but even if its not, those bastards try to change out every single other thing before actually fixing the problem. All they have to say is that they believe that it [B]may[B] be what's causing the problem.
