Sorry...I love the sound of a spooling turbo. It's been a while since I've been able to drive a turbo car, and it's a bit of a letdown that the MS3 in stock form masks that wonderful sound. So, I'm just wondering what mods would both free up a bit of HP and would also make the turbo a bit louder? I'm guessing an intake is one of them, but any others?

RPMC Turbo Inlet... That will definitely bring your turbo to life...of course along with an intake.

I dont know if it will be the turbo you hear but any aftermarket intake will allow you to hear the stock bpv which actually sounds pretty good, the cobb sri you will hear the sound of sucking air while your into the pedal if those are the noises your looking for. An aftermarket motor mount will be a big help for the way the car drives and will slightly change the sound of your car due to your engine not shaking as much.

I was planning on the Cobb SRI, and I ordered the Forge BPV. I know the Cobb intake is on backorder right now, though. It's good to know that combo will give me what I'm looking for along with a good performance increase (well, good enough).

I had a MS CAI and eventually converted it to a SRI. When it was a CAI you could hear the turbo spool easier and the bpv/suction was super loud. Now that's it's a SRI I only hear the suction sound and bpv and only during high rpm/hard accel.
If you're going for sound i'd go with a CAI over a SRI.

when i took off the resonators and muffler and put in straight pipe the turbo got louder for me along with the exhaust obviously. It free'd up the exhaist and allowed for less restriction on the turbo, it gives more of a whine to the turbo sound.
but def the intake will give the best sound!
