hey so i have a question on test pipes there obviously really cheap. so what does it replace the 2nd cat or both if you want? how easy are they to install/uninstall? is it a matter of bolting them on? and how much gain could i expect to see if i could replace both cats? and how much if u can only replace the one? reason i want to know is it seems like a simple exhaust mod that could help alot i dont want to get to deep into my car i was thinking a intake/bpv motor mount and maybe a short shifter then slight exhaust mods like this and i all ready removed my resonators

It replaces the second cat. I believe the first cat is a part of the downpipe. They just bolt on/off, but you will want to change your gaskets everytime you change.

Can't help on HP...probably not a whole lot, since there is still restriction in the line. Your turbo might spool up a bit faster, maybe gain ~5whp.

I just installed the SU test pipe. Reused the stock downpipe side gasket and you don't use a gasket at all on the muffler side. Fits perfect, no leaks. Takes about an hour, super easy, cheap and you can easily slap the cat back on for emissions checks if you have them. Small gains but for the money it's a good mod if you can't (or don't want to) go for a DP, plus it's stealthy

You'll see big gains with a DP

im guessing no1 has dynoed there cars after a test pipe? i'm just curious what type of gains one would expect to see? 5hp/tq?

My guess would be more. I don't think I would notice 5 hp/tq and I definitely noticed an improvement with my SU test pipe. Nice sound, too.

I heard it frees up in the 10-15 horsepower range, but don't quote me on that. I did downpipe and testpipe at the same time and it's awesome!

I just installed the SU mid-pipe and agree with SSMS3. Great easy mod. I haven't seen any dynos except SU's which yielded gains of 11 hp / 6 ft-lbs in pretty warm weather (90's) with about 2-3 weeks in between dynos.
