Ok i was driving earlier and i decided to open her up and i did. I got a loud backfire and a lil smoke which i thought was normal and i kept going. So i arrived where i was going checked my exhaust tip and it was black, now when i gas it i only get to 15psi no higher. Also i hear my wastegate opening i think. I had it set to 18psi with a MBC, it would spike to 21psi a fall. Whats wrong?
Thanks in advance Steve

something from the stock EBC is still connected and taking control of your boost levels? or maybe a boost leak or something? how long has the MBC been on the car?

one of your hoses is probably loose, and it might had just gotten blown off today when you floored it

Sounds like a boost leak.

maybe you messed up your wastegate actuator.

I dont have a boost controller but i had a simillar experience:
I also noticed some backfiring with my car especially when shifting in low revvs (driving normally). My car is mostlly stock with just a MSCAI. At first i thought nothing of it for a few months but then i realized that wasnt good for the Cat converter and it didnt sound right. So i went out and changed the BOV, the shop attendant recommended me to buy a turbosmart dual port running and run it hyrbid mode but still i was getting the popping noises back there. It didnt matter how much i set the dial to harder or softer; the car would still backfire occassionally. So i decided to run it in full recirc and those popping/backfiring noises have been 99% cured. the problem all along with my car was the stock bov.
good luck

becuase you are putting stuff on the car its not suppose to have, especially a crappy mbc, they are unreliable and can cause a lot of problems.

You have your Turbosmart running recirc? You set it to "Harder"?

Maybe you killed your turbo? Does it still smoke a lot? Black smoke or blueish/gray? Maybe your ECU reverted to limp mode after sensing an overboost?

Ok it only had a puff of smoke.
It doesn't smoke tho. I have a bcd also on the car.

i would take everything that put on the car and run it for a few days /weeks and see if anything changes. take off hoses and put them back on to ensure a good seal
