See, I'm not really a big fan of tint, I think cars look cleaner w/o. But if I got tint, it'd be like yours. Nice and dark :D

Probably going to go 20% all around, I'm going to let mike get his done first, hes going 35% all around and I will see if that will be dark enough for my fronts or not.

wish I could tint mine :(

Why cant you?

mazdaspeedster3

20% is my front windows that look dark because my rear are 5%

nate0123

Why cant you?
the strong arm of the DC law

guess it's for police safety

max tint is 70% front (read: clear) and 50% rear (read: is that tinted? it kinda almost looks like it might be a little bit)

On the plus side the courts just over turned the gun ban in DC...

50% almost looks like the window is just dirty, that sucks, legally I'm only allowed to have a 4" band on the top of my drivers or passengers windows, but no restrictions on the back other than it cant be reflective.

I'm not a fan of tint either, but on a white car, it looks fantastic.

Very nice.

I just got a $171.00 ticket for "willingly operating a motor vehicle with illegal window tint" from a state trooper here in NC. Mine are 20% and legal is 35% so watch out !! Its a safety issue for the officers out there apparently.

My buddy had 5% tint on his Jetta. He would just roll his windows down so the officer could see in. It's rare, atleast around here, for people to get ticketed for window tint.

Cops dont need to see in your car at all times but if your getting pulled over and roll down your windows before they approach I dont see why it should be a problem.

Damn Matt, I was hoping you could get yours first so I can decide whether or not I want to go 20% in the rear. It was a thought I had..but I think i'll stick to my original plan of 35%.

This has always been a bullshit excuse for the municipality to generate revenue beyond taxes. The reason it's bullshit is that certain vehicles (SUVs, vans, limos) are exempt. What, only people in passenger cars are capable of pulling a gun on a cop whereas SUV occupants are always law-abiding citizens? It's because celebrities/politicians/dignitaries don't want to be spotted while being chauffeured around town. If every type of vehicle was subject to tint laws, I wouldn't have a problem with the safety excuse.

Nice tint !! I think that the tint looks amazing on white cars in general but even more so on a ms3.. i've been contemplating putting 25% or 30% (depending on quote) on my true red , but I think Texas legal is like 35? ughhh

Haha I was thinking the same to decide about 35%, alright I'll just go 20% around.

I even considered not tinting the front windows, just to stay legal, and do 20% on the rear windows, sorta like an SUV has it setup. Wouldn't be too bad looking IMO.

KY also has pretty lenient tint laws

around here they can and will pull you over for the tint

I just found this though: http://dmv.dc.gov/info/forms/vehicle_tint_waiver_pdf.shtm (naughty)

the problem is that if they cant see in your car (especially from the rear) how are they to know what you are doing in there when you get pulled over? How do they know you're not reaching under the seat to stash drugs or to pull out a gun and surprise them...

Its definitely for their safety so its understandable that there are laws in place against this...ya know?
