What do you guys think about metro gray and flat black wheels? I was gonna do gunmetal but i was thinking my car would look hawt if i tint the reflectors and taillight and paint the emblems flat black as well....
anyone got pictures got of a mgm with black oem wheels?
Im doing it with a friend thats very experiences with painting... i was wondering if i should worry about durability of paint and will it fade?

Black on Black ftw. Painting wheels tends to chip alittle bit. I would also have them cleared when your done of maybe even have them powdercoated.

if you do it right, they wont chip, fade, or crack.

B-ron i like the wheels. Something seems a bit off like it needs some other accent on the car the same color, but it looks way better than i thought it would. I went the easy way out with black.

I know you wanted pics of black rims on a MGM but this should be close to what you're looking for

that'd be hott bro. i tinted my reflectors and my sidemarker along w my tails... i dont really like how my tails came out so i'll be takin that off. it looks a little brown from the silver in the tails reflecting to the tint

not my cup of tea, i dont like it.

i gotta agree with him on this one. i had flat black motegi RT-5 rims on my old celica, which was jet black with a bit of a batmobile look going on. in that case, and even on my old MX-6, i think the flat black rims looked pretty good.
however, with the mica paint on the speeds, i think it looks kinda odd. its in that middle ground where it looks funny because its not exactly the same, but it also looks funny because it's not different enough.
it would likely be a little different on a metro grey, i've yet to see one with black rims. that said, i'm not a big fan of the stock rims to begin with, so that might be why i have such a distaste for the painted stockers. although, i have seen some aftermarket black rims that didnt look all that great either.
bottom line: to each his own. i painted my calipers blue... like it, some don't, but i do, so that's really what matters.

I'm really diggin the MS6 rims. I think semi gloss black MS6 rims on a MGM 3 would look sick.

i didnt want to go with the typical black wheel like everyone else. i painted mine Midnight Blue Metallic.
looks good when the light hits it and has a hint of blue when its dark out. painted it with automotive paint. 5 coats and a nice thick coat of clear.
used the good clear too. if something manages to chip it, im finding it and mounting it on my wall :D

pics? i love blue, wish i could have gotten my car in the blue that the regular 3 comes in, but i'd be skeptical of painting my rims blue, so it'd be cool if i could see what that looks like.
i was thinking gold on mine... usually not a fan, but i think it'd look good with the black, like the older STi.
