Since I have had to do this twice now, I thought Id help out others with some specs to get an accurate shipping quote, so heres the dimensions and approximate weight for you:
85lbs (inside two cardboard boxes, so maybe a pound less)
16 x 16 x 20 (inches)
the LSD/axle spline area is the 20" portion
you could probably squeeze it into a 16 x 16 x 18 inch box, but it would be a tight fit.
we wound up double boxing it with one 16" cube and one 20" cube...I underestimated the size and bought the 16" box which was barely too small, so we just threw a 20" box over top of it, which cost more unfortunately
just a tip for anyone who wants to ship a transmission in the future so you dont wind up paying extra at the shipping store because your quote wasn't accurate (spin)
