I got super bored today and took some pictures of my rig. I went a little bit off the wall with my new HDR technique, but like it because it's not too corny like many other peoples' images. Let me know what you think.

Steady hands, FTW. Also, I did say that I'm trying a more subtle approach to HDR, as everyone and their mom is trying to do it now and it's gotten out of hand.

Less is more.

I've done hdr shots from a moving car, you dont have to do long exposers for hdr as long as your camera will do bracketing.

I agree that a lot of people are going over the top with hdr just making the pictures look insane but you did a good job, the pictures look sweet.

The pix are awesome!

If I was gonna nitpick, I'd say you need to figure where to shoot from so as not to show up in the car's reflection.

D80 is amazing, after my D50 kicks the bucket thats what I'm buying. That or shell out the extra for a D200, they seem to be dropping in price now that the D300 is out.

Add me to the Nikon fanboy list. Woulda loved to get the D80 but settled for a D60. After ~4000 shots in the last 3 months I'm still loving it. Next on the list is a 55-200mm lens. Between the MS3, camera stuff, and PCs I'm so broke :(

I know how you feel... I'm at 17,000 pictures in 2 years with mine, still takes great pictures but I've been rough with it and I'm starting to get some reoccurring errors. The 55-200mm lens is nice but at a 5.6f its not the best unless youve got real good light conditions or a tripod, SB800 flash doesnt hurt either.

That should be it for my off topic rant, sorry.

18-200 mm lens would be better

Someone explain to me The "MM" of a lens and how it works.

the 18-200mm VR lens is amazing but also $750.

The mm of a lens is like the zoom length, a regular film point and shoot camera is a 35mm so 18mm is twice as wide, it allows you to get way more into the picture and a 200mm focus equates to about an 11x zoom if your used to seeing those measurements, normal digital cameras are usually a 3x or 4x optical zoom, 3x equates to the 55mm.

OK ladies/gents -- I've had a large interest in these and will be hosting them on my server soon. Instead of processing every photo, please PM me and let me know what images you want in full rez. I have 2 up already on my webserver.

If I could post a link it might look something similar to this: ;-)
