My goal is to have the whole exterior of the car look like it came from Japan, with a Japan Spec Kenstyle aero kit installed on it.
My kit came from Japan about a month ago, now I'm just trying to convert the USDM body parts to JDM, so the Japan kit will fit.

First off, thanks again for the great words of encouragement.
I'll be sure to post up anything new as this project progresses.
Now to answer andethy.....
I don't think you can just buy the Kenstyle bumper by itself.
I do know that you can get replicas of the Kenstyle kit that offer just pieces of the kit, like just the bumper.
I've heard that the replicas will fit right over the USDM spec crash bars, foam and all.
Just keep in mind that the bumpers geometry will look a little different than the one pictured on the Kenstyle site, because of it's USDM fitment.
For me, I'm going for the total JDM exterior look, down to the short JDM front bumper, and rear bumper cover.

Crap.....okay, changed out the rear crash bar, and test fitted the JDM/OEM rear bumper.
I just got around to unwrapping the bumper when I noticed that it was a non-sport bumper.
So I tried it on anyway, and yup, it don't fit. The two lower mounts under the car don't line up.
The non-sport bumper is too high, so scratch fitting the Kenstyle rear valance till I get a JDM/OEM sport rear bumper.
Also, it looks like I'm going to need to get different front fender liners to make the Kenstyle front bumper lower mounts to work.
Geez, this JDM conversion is harder than I thought it was going to be......

Hi guys, I haven't updated this thread in a long time.
I recently finished my Authentic JDM Kenstyle conversion.
I also added a couple of other exterior JDM goodies too, like the Garage Vary roof spoiler.
I know there's a lot of you following my build, and I'm humbled by all of your support and words of encouragement for my efforts.
Here's some very recent pics of my Mazda 6 (Atenza) with the exterior fully built.
enjoy..........

By far one of the cleanest 6's i've seen ever, and i've seen true JDM Altezza's @ SEMA - and this really is top notch. What did you do with your old set of rims? Those things are awesome, and the new ones are clean as well. Anyways great job so far - i'm looking forward to any updates you'll be having in the future. (bowdown)

The front looks mean, the rear lip is a bit too aggressive for my taste. But definitely unique.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!
Your approval really makes this build worth while.
I personally love the way she turned out....I'm pretty happy.
On a side note.....she's not really done yet.
I got a couple of big things that I'd still like to do to it.
stay tuned.....
