CEL reset

Is there any way to reset the CEL without going to the dealer? My gascap was loose and now the engine light is on.... help appreciated

disconnect the battery and touch both ends of the wires together for 15 secs that will do the job.

not the battery terminals, but the wires that connect to them.

you never know, you'd be suprised at the dumb things people do, like connecting the wrong side of the battery to a jump box.

first off, dotn disconnect the battery!!!! You will clear all drive mode data on the pcm which takes many correct drive cycles to recomplete. If you had a loose gas cap and set a p0455 gross evap leak, just tighten the cap. You do realize there are recalls for the gas cap and filler neck on these cx7s. Email or PM me and i can see if your vehicle has any open recalls. ALso we had issues with the filler necks being too coarse of threads and leaking
