questions on dp

hey guys this may seem really noobie but we all gotta learn somehow right? so i know if u remove the cats u will not pass inspection but i was wondering if u buy a dp with a high flow cat will u pass? cause our car stock has two cats which i dont get... but do we need both on there to pass? or could i buy a test pipe for cheap and get rid of one of them

You will not pass a visual with only 1 cat, but you will pass sniffer tests with only 1 cat as long as the car is warmed up.

ok....so i'm kind of at a loss here....i was under the impression a large # of people are running a DP -- are you guys swapping out b4 inspection (seems like a large PITA considering the time it takes for this) or are you guys all "friends" w/ whomever is doing ur inspection.... lol

i have been contemplating getting a dp. and i live in california, which has the most strict emissions policies. with a new vehicle, you have 4 years before you have to pass smog...that's 4 years of dp installation.
after that amount of time, a swap of the dp's might be in order.

if a dp with a high flow cat will pass inspection, then fucking awesome...

No testing at all here in Iowa yet, so I don't ever have to worry about it.

When I have to take mine in I will just add the stock midpipe back in with the cat..It will pass then and Im sure they are not going to check to see if my dp has a cat. in it,They never even open the hood anyways anymore.
