I know I'm in the minority here, but my wife's '02 Protege has an automatic transmission. Wondering if anyone here has swapped out engine mounts for this car before. I'm assuming the engine mounts are different for an AT compared to a MT. I helped swap out the front and rear mounts for my friend when he had his Protege MP3, but was wondering if anyone had access to pictures of where AT engine mounts go. I was told that there are three mounts for her car. I ordered two - the front one and the rear one. The other one was up by the cam gears supposedly. Any help with pictures (Mazda service manual ones, parts diagrams showing the location of engine mounts for an AT Protege, or self/home pics) or write ups on hot to install would be greatly appreciated :)

Wrong...4...front, rear, passenger side & drivers side. 3 are same, 1 is different on auto. Wanna say driver's side, the one one the tranny case would be the different one. Many many threads on mtr mnts of every kind & people's experiences to plow through. Dig in. Probably want RR front/rear inserts & AWR side inserts since it's the wifes car. Least amount of vibration if upgrading. Here's the manual - http://www.floptical.net/mazda/ Damn just drove thru your hood on the way back from Orlando this past weekend. Watched some RC race action over off the 10 by northwest passage street at a Home Depot parking lot eatin some Wendy's. Cool stuff. These guy's had a really bad ass track set up & they were flyin ass round it. Just happened into it, bonus.

The only reason I'm swapping them out are because I think the current OEM ones are starting to go. The car rattles/shakes at idle and in reverse. I was going off knowledge of my friend's MP3 as to what mounts were more important as we swapped out two OEM ones for the AWR ones. I'm replacing them with OEM ones since this is our daily beater of sorts...so no performance, just something to retain stock ride. I guess I can inquire about the two side ones, but I'm hoping the two I ordered will fix the situation at hand.
