you get what you pay for, get the cp-e. or wait for cobbs! but who knows how long that will be.
I voted for the Corksport as it allows you to keep the main under car cat.

I thought the "main" cat was the one on the dp.

i would just wait for cobb's going to be the best i think ...i voted for cp-e well designed !!

Nope. The car has 2 cats - the pre-cat is built into the stock DP. The DP attaches to the main cat and the exhaust goes from there.
CP-E and most others DP's remove BOTH cats and replace with one hi-flow cat. The Corksport is technically a shorty DP and has no cat built into it ... just bolts right up to the main cat. Good if you need to go completely catless 'cause you can then replace the main cat with a test pipe or if you need to worry about emissions testing 'cause I'm sure the main stock cat is better than the hi-flow ones for cleaning the exhaust.

I disagree. Whatever you want to call it, the 1st cat in the downpipe is the one that will throw a CEL when you get rid of it. The rear cat has no effect on the engine or ECU, its there simply for the EPA and emissions standards.

I thought so.
I replaced the "second" cat with a tp. No ce light.

My previous Turbo XS DP through a CEL light and there was no remedy but to reset it every day :-)I simply don`t like any CEL`s period wether the car is modified or not because not having a CEL, the mod was truly engineered and designed correcly, therefore any mod causing a CEL should not be put on a car in my books.

You're just paranoid, that's all, any downpipe + midpipe that is catless, will yield a CEL, some give you a CEL after several miles, then it goes away, but that's the price you pay for going CATLESS (stooges)

Not true. I have a catless downpipe and once it was fixed the o2 Extender did its job. All three of these pipes should have no check engine light if installed correctly. It comes down to what you want. Shorty or long, bell mouth or divorced, catted or dirty.

Waiting for install, but I bought corksport dp/rp, I trust them. Let's see what they feel like when I get them in!!

Hey Aaron. What are you actually disagreeing with on my post?
I'm with you on the elimination of the 1st cat being the one that causes the CEL. And I agree with your comment on the function of the rear cat for emissions. Up here in Ontario they put the car on a dynamometer and put a sniffer up the tail-pipe and measure a whole bunch of pollutants with a read-out provided to see if you're in spec or not.
I think we're both correct in what we're saying, but for the sake of clarity, I'd like to know what the dis-agreement is on. :)

not really a disagreement--
you said that the 'main' cat is the 2nd cat. I usually call the one in the DP the 'primary cat' and the one in the racepipe the 'secondary cat'. I have no idea if this is technically correct but I just figure 1st= primary 2nd=secondary.
sorry-- I wasnt saying you were wrong

so let me get this str8 all of the DP will give a cel and the only way take it out is to move the 1 o2 to the secandary o2 spot

Or you can just ignore it...It isn't going to affect anything....

Use a spark plug non fouler. If it still throws a code, add another non fouler.

The non-fouler eventually failed ... the above has worked perfect for me.

my understanding is that a dashhawk will allow you to clear the cel.

Not true, I've been catless since 1999 and have not had a CEL from any catless aftermarket exhaust. There's nothing wrong with fooling the ECU on this mod as the only function of the downstream O2 is to test for a functioning cat.

If you get a CEL yes you can clear it with the dashhawk. Also, a non-fouler SHOULD keep you from throwing a code in the first place.

I don`t know about dash hawk but any simple OBD2 reader clears any code under the sun for any car manufacturer in the world basically. My one was a 45usd code reader from autozone or something.I also have a obd2 iso interface that can be usedfor notebooks USB2 to serial port with a obd2 scanmaster software, however it only reads BMW,Suzuki and a few other manufacturers that are ISO protocol compliant.
