I know there is a thread about painting the heat shield, but i cant find it now!!!

Also, how the fuk do you get this thing off? Have to pull the hot pipe?

there are a couple of bolts to remove, and you have to remove the o2 sensor - thats it.

Polish it, don't paint it. Take off both the lifting tab and the intercooler pipe. Pull the 02 sensor if you must or simply unclip it. Comes out fairly easy with patience. MSP appearance section has the write up on polishing. Takes less time if you have a real buffer and an aggressive compound.

ya i looked it up but none of the pictures work! im very new to the car so i dont know much where things are located or how they come apart yet! :D and not bieng much of a "car guy" i dont want to just LEARN by ripping stuff apart

how the F do you get the o2 sensor out? Cant get a wrench on it with the heat shield on, and cant get a socket on it with the wires hanging off the sensor! ?

wont it rust in the winter?

You have to get an 02 sensor socket. They have a cut out for the wires. You can get them at like autozone for next to nothing. I bought one and it was well worth it.
