hey everyone...
got an issue with my ABS......
both my ABS and parking brake lights are on, on the dash....
read the manual and it's says that it's dangerous to drive that way...

I've checked.....

brake fluid.....full
e-brake...little loose
e-brake cable.....good ( i think )
ABS sensors ( rear wheels ) ...... intact
brake lines.......no leaks

Do i really have to take it in to a mazda dealership to have it checked?????

Please help, Thanks

Both times for me (late 02 ES) it was the rear ABS sensors. First was under warranty a few years ago, second was the other rear sensor recently. You'll need to pull codes to know which it is, or assume it's a running problem and just do both ($80 part each). Car drives fine w/o abs, but at some point the brake light should mean something....

so should i get a dianosgic check before i do anything???
i thought it could be the ABS sensor...but the brake light came on too, so i wasn;t sure

if it is driving fine i would leave it alone. the stealer will rip you off big time.

yeah i know....i wouldn't take dealership unless it was do or die.

i got a buddy who's a mechanic and he's got all the fun tools, so i think i'll ask him to run a check and go from there...thanks

thanks to everybody
