adjusting greddy rs bov

Ok I just installed my greddy rs bov a few days ago(recirculated of course) I didnt adjust it at all and my speed3 has been idling as normal. Do I still need to adjust the spring at all? Is compressor surge a possibility, and how do i know if I have the problem? I just want to make sure i dont hurt the turbo in any way....
