I recently bought a 99 miata, as stated in my other post, lol.
Now there is a "clunking" sound coming from the front left side of the car. Kind of sounds like theres something stuck in the wheel but theres nothing there. It gets louder as i speed up too.
Does anybody have any clue?? please help! THANKS!!

probably hub bearing going out.
bad news is you can't buy just the bearing, gotta buy the hub... about $120 at autozone... most locations have to special order it. easy to replace tho.
easy to troubleshoot, too... jack the car up and try to wiggle the wheel.

Word.
interesting. last time I replaced a hub, it looked like the bearings rode on the inside of the hub, with just the metal seal and outsides of the races holding them in, hence why repacking them is not a long term fix, since you cannot get the bearing seal from mazda. At least, thats what the guy at mazda motorsports who has been helping us in getting the parts to build our specmiata said...
I'll be sure to have my pops ask about that part#...
tho a quick google of that part# shows several online stores showing that part# as the whole hub, including lug studs... not just the bearing.

... and in that pdf, that part number is for the REAR bearing. REAR.
AKA NOT FRONT.
unless I'm somehow mistaken than a bad bearing in the rear can make noise at the left front of the car, as in the O.P.'s post.
