I have an 05 Mazda3 Sport and i wanted to clean the inside of the rear wheels. I removed the 5 lug nuts but the wheel just won't come off. Am i missing anything?? I've done this a thousand times on my Protege5 but this is the first time i attempt to take the wheels off my Mazda3. They seemed glued there.
Any help??!!
Thanks!

you have to bang them off, sometimes rust builds up and they get stuck.

This happens on my MSP. Try sitting on the ground and kicking the top of the rim, then the bottom, then the top again. This usually loosens it up for me.

You're going to have to work at it. Try working at the edges of the wheel I had the same problem when I first got my protege.

I always kick mine like I'm trying to break down a door. Works everytime on those stubborn hubs.

actually an easy way to do it without beating your foot against it is to loosen the lugs but don't take them off. Jack the car just slightly off the ground and then lower it back down again... the movement of the suspension causes the wheel to break free. its worked every time for me.

Exactly! I ran into this issue friday. All 4 of my wheels were stuck. I was able to get them off but it sucks! (scratch)

once you get 'em off, coat the hub w/ anti-seize.

Hi,
Had the same problem with my '04. The solution is Wheel Mates, available at Autobarn and other spots:

Clean off the wheels and the hubs where they mate, then slide the Wheel Mates on before you replace each wheel. I did mine at home before I got caught at 2AM in the rain with a flat. Wheel slide right off now!

This happened to me before I KICKED my wheels every way possible
Just loosen the lug nuts up( I actually took the lug nuts off lol), start the car up , turn the wheel to the right and left, and keep going forward and backwards til you hear a pop! You could also ask someone to watch!

No offense dude, but that is crazy! You shouldn't tell someone to do that, let alone do it yourself. What if the wheel actually fell off while the car was moving, and then your sitting on your rotor? Dumb.
The easiest way to take care of this problem is exactly what has been stated above. I like to use a rubber mallet from the backside of the tire/rim though, and bang it until it comes loose.
