Question 1 - Should I use mazda oil filters? If so, is there a good place to buy them in bulk?
Question 2 - I am missing a key fob. Where can I get a replacement without spending and arm and a leg
Question 3 - What is the first good reasonable mod? This car is my daily driver and I want a good reliable car.
Any other known item I should be aware of?
So far I am really enjoying the car.

i also came into ownership of a spicy orange about a year ago (58k miles on it). if you don't already, its a good idea to try and find out what if anything has been done or replaced on the car. after a year i've replaced: wastegate actuator, motor mounts, exhaust (stock was cracked between the cats...the norm), brakes, O2 sensor, suspension, front and rear sway bar bushings. all these things were replaced because they needed to be. in the near future i forsee new clutch and flywheel, and turbo manifold unfortunately MSPs in general are a good reason to go with aftermarket stuff, the stock shit is weak!! 1) Doesn't really matter. I've been using Mobil 1 oil filters, but that's because they're often on sale when I go to buy stuff to change my oil.
2) I don't know.
3) a) Find somebody local who also owns an MSP and have them give the car a good look over, see if they can find stuff that isn't stock. For example, I didn't realize I had a short shifter when I bought mine used. Then, go check this thread :http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123677826
Good mod list for daily drivers. I'm halfway through it, and love the car.

1. Remove key from ignition.
2. Close all doors.
3. Open driver side door and leave open.
4. Perform the following steps within 24 seconds.
a. Insert key in ignition.
b. Turn key to ON and OFF.
c. Repeat step b two more times.
d. Remove key.
e. Push driver door frame button three times (black rubber button located on driver door frame that tell the vehicle whether or not door is closed.)
5. Buzz sound, chime or doors will lock and unlock should be heard at this point signaling that the vehicle is now in programming mode. If not, wait 40 seconds and return to step 4.
6. All transmitters need to be programmed at this time, including the old ones. Push any button on the transmitter two times. A buzz sound, chime or doors locking and unlocking should be heard at this point signaling that the vehicle has accepted the new transmitter code. If there is only one transmitter, repeat this step two more times using the only transmitter. If there are two transmitters, repeat this step two more times using the second transmitter.
7. Push driver door frame button one time. Two buzz sounds, chimes or doors locking and unlocking 2 times should be heard at this point signaling successful programming.

Thanks!
I have cleaned the car and the car is 100% stock so I have a clean slate to work with.

So today I went to do the rear brakes. I pulled the pads and rotors off only to realize that they gave me the wrong pads. Arghh....
Where is the best place to buy OEM Mazda parts online? It seems as though I have some water getting the the trunk is this common?
Final question: For the Spicy Orange owners, it seems as though my front bumper, wing and rear bumper are slightly different colors than the rest of the car. Do these fiberglass pieces fade differently than the metal parts?
Any other known item I should be aware of?
The dreaded spicy curse

yes water in the trunk is common.....it was actually a recall. as far as mazda parts http://www.onlinemazdaparts.com/. they are one of the forum sponsors so use them wisely. last but not leats i too noticed that those pieces on the car can at times look a slightly different color......they may fade.......i always just said it was the flake in the paint and the fact that those pieces weren't painted all together at the factory so they reflect in different directions???? IDK... maybe im just full of it?
