The last set of pics I had were at night and crappy. There are some day time ones. I got body work to do but its not too bad for 209K and 200 bucks.
Im going to paint it my self, what colors would look good?

i would go with a black or a darkish blue
im painting my car myself too, next spring, im thinking of the cx7 copper red mica
either that or a green, not many modified cars are green i like being different and standing out

Belle Mead, here in Florida? Man, how is that car still that glossy with our tortureous year-round sun? That had to be garage kept most of its life.

Na Belle Mead NJ, and yea it was garage kept. But the roof is all white. No more clear coat. Yea I was thinkin on a nice blue. Then it would match my stang. The paint looks pritty good in the pics but its super rough. I havent had a chance to compound, polish, and wax it yet. Ill get to it 1 day.

NJ, that explains the remaining gloss. The gloss would have been like that a couple of years earlier here. That, especially with the crappy paint that Mazda was using until about 96. It seems the 97's on up may have been the turning point where they got better.

Its a common ford paint problem in the early 80's to the mid 90's. I had a few stangs that had no clear also. Thank God my 88 Stang was in such good shape when I got it.

91Protege, when showing how well a paint has held up, you have to show the roof. Even my 96 Protege with 98% of its gloss gone shows a full gloss at the doors and fenders. It's the roof, hood and trunk lid that get constant sun beating on it as well as the other elements. I replaced the hood and trunk lid from a donor 97 Protege of the same color but, unfortunately, I can't remove and replace the roof.

The Roof is bout wasted, the trunk lid is gettin there, and the hood is fine somehow, but rotted out on the underside, but doesnt effect look lol. Ill get a pic on tomorrow.

Yes, and here's a picture of the 96 about a year ago. I've got a 98 now without the problem. You must log in to see the picture.
This happened with 95 I had also and I see it all over town on 96 and under Proteges. I think it's our almost year round sun but other makes of those years don't have it as bad.
