Check Engine Light at key on?

Hi there everyone,

I have a 2000 Familia SP20, and was having some idling issues and a bit jerky changing gears sometimes (automatic transmission).

Anyway just had a full service (only done 60 000km), and the cause of all my problems was a leak in the air intake after the air flow sensor. This was causing the engine to run lean and stall on occasion. However, the Check Engine Light has never come on, so I had a look for the check engine light at key on and it could not be found. Thus, my question is does the check engine light illuminate at key on?

the light should come on, when the key is turned to accesory. If it is not, then there is a good chance that the bulb is blown, or if no others lights illuminate when the key is turned then a fuse might have crapped out.

Ahh I thought so. Well I'll get it checked when I get the transmission flushed. Where exactly is the light located on the dash?
