Hello, I had completly forgotten I had made a membership to this forum last year. I have a 2002 Mazda Protege, MTX with the 2.0 engine. I also have a car-puter integrated into the car, and my current project is figuring out how to control my HVAC controls with a microcontroller.

My temperature and vent controls are cable-driven, which severly limits my options, and I was wondering if there were any other years/model of proteges that had electronically controled HVAC systems that maybe I could get in a salvage yard and would bolt up pretty simply, rather than having to put my own servo controls in there.

Thanks for any help, I tried searching, and found many things including a potential solution to my "blinking AC light" problem, but nothing about electronic controls.

Going back to my carputer days, I remember that Captain KRM P5 and Dexter were working on the HVAC issue as well, but they were using servos. All of the HVAC setups in the 3rd gen Proteges are the same and I don't know the setup in the Mazda6/3 or whether it is compatible.

I had figured as much, I already have a servo system worked out, but I really would rather not have to rely on that if there was another option :)
Thanks for the quick reply though, I'll go search for their posts.
