I just have some quick questions that i was wondering if any of you fellows could answer...

Here goes:

1) I took off my fuel rail, and seemed to have miss placed two of those plastic spacers...so where would be the best place to get some more?

2) I really don't know if my timing belt has been changed or not (i bought the car used at 65k and the previous owner prob didn't want to spend money for the 60k mile tune up if he's just going to sell it right away), so is this kind of rubber dust usual then?

...maybe i should clean the underside of the cover too, should I?

...here's just a pic of the engine without the cover...

...and last question...don't laugh either!
I kinda broke a bolt... i don't want to do anything to it and i haven't even tried getting it out, i want to see what you guys have to say...
...so how would i proceed on getting the rest of it out?

sorry for so many questions, but wanted to keep them in one thread.

Thanks!

1. That is a dealer item. You could 'make one' by stacking plastic shims - nothing magical about them - they just keep the heat from the rail.
2. The timing belt gets changed at 105K - wait until then. Look at the belt - no cracks and good tension is good-to-go...
3. Yikes! the previous owner was not too diligent about oil changes! My engine is cleaner at 161K! Run seafoam in the oil (about 5 minutes) before draining it at the next oil change.
4. Try vise grips to turn it out. Take a good bolt to the hardware store to replace - or just pick one up with the fuel rail spacers. If it wont turn out - you need to carefully drill it out and use an 'easy out' (kinda' like a reverse threaded drill bit) to work it out. Lastly - drill it all the way out & chase the threads with a thread tool.

Good luck!
