Well assuming the 626/mx6/probe all have the same mounting hole spacing. Yes?

Be he who assumes is an asshole.

I check ProbeTallk

I am not picky..just trying to find an answer.
I appreciate the link...but it didnt answer the question.

Sorry If I want to Verify something before Spending $1300 on something that wont work for my car.

Drop in the bucket I tell ya...

I'm just messing with ya. No problem.
Fwiw stock P5 and 2nd gen 93+ V6 Probe use the same front rotors, so BBkit should fit. That r-r link in the last post shows both models for the same kit.

I know all about project costs, so I don't blame you for checking, even thought you found something that says the part may interchange. I have some parts that didn't fit but they didn't cost $1300.

ttt for some fresh views today.

they "should" as long as the kit replaces the caliper mount bracket too. the rotors and pads are the same between the protege5 / ES / MP3 and the probe gt / mx6 v6 models. i guess they would fit a mazdaspeed protege too, as long as they are replacing everything.

something to check out. Not a direct bolt on, but you obviously have some fab skills. Whats an adapter plate.
MPV 2piston calipers and S2000 rotors.

another option

Although this dosen't really answer question.

I'll edit later when I find an answer.....

::::edit::::: found on probetalk

This info is easily found by using the search function....

For the record, the 99-03 protege front and rear calipers are slightly larger then the probe's and are a direct bolt on with our probe rotors. the e-brake will work fine.

the 2003/2003.5 mazdaspeed protege brakes are both larger then the protege and probes in both their calipers and their rotors. again, these will be a bolt on affair to our hubs. You cannot mix the msp set up with the protege or probes calipers or rotors. They are completely different in design. you may also run into an issue with wheel clearance, but I am not too sure on that one...

On the topic of BBKs:

There was another thing going on over there in Probe-land (LOL) not too long ago where some of them we using Mazda6 front rotors and calipers as a sort of BBK. A lot of them also "upgrade" to MSP-standard rotors and calipers so it would be logical to assume that Mazda6 (including MS6) front rotors and calipers would work on all 3rd Gen. Proteges. So continuing this thought any Mazda6 BBKs should also work on Proteges. Right? There's a nice Brembo kit out there for MS6s that I've been eyeballing. Either that or I'd just try to upgrade to MS6 rotors and calipers (only single piston though) as it wouldn't be too expensive and therefore not too much of a loss if they don't work.

Anyhow, from what I understand if Protege stuff fits on a Probe then I'd imagine Probe stuff would fit on a Protege. At least the front stuff, I have no idea on the rear with the parking brake cable and whatnot...

EDIT x2: See second linke in MakeMeGoFast's last post.

right now, i think that you are getting a lot of definite maybe's and possibly's. i wouldn't gamble on that if i were you. but then, if i were you, you would be me and you would use my body to do whatever you want, so i really can't stop you no matter who i am. what is wrong with the mazda BBK?

what is wrong with the mazda BBK?The fact that they dont make one for what I am looking at...but they do for Probes.
I am looking at the K-sport BBK setup.

I get good pricing on this stuff..so I was looking into it.

I know I have seen K-sports n a protege yet they do not list the Protege as an application.

Seems like most people have cannibalized brake parts on to their Fazda Probes in lieu of a bolt on BBK. I don't think you are going to get an absolute answer. My unsolicited advice to you is to forget about the BBK and save or use that $1300 for something which translates to speed and lower et's!

ForceFed
07-04-2008, 09:36 AM
Why....I am not bulding a Drag car....ET's mean crap to me form a Car that is meant to have roll on power.

I need to be able to pull this beast down to speed from the long straight before I careen off into the Grass at turn 1.
Going fast is fun...but you gotta stop sometime.

I mean don't get me worng....I will run at the Strip for "Poops and Smiles"..But I am Building this a s aStreet driven Roller with some occasional Use at some road courses for track days.

These cars are far too traction limited to try to get Killer ET's out of with out running slicks and breaking trannies.

Roll on FTW.

K-sport BBK: http://***********************/mazdaspeed7.htm? Three and four items up from the bottom? If you're looking for rear's I think you're SOL as I'm pretty sure no one makes any rear BB setups. I just don't know about K-sport though...

I believe that would answer your question no? See if you can get a part# from Crossover of the kit they sell for the Pro.

I know Crossover Has them listed..but I think that its the Probe Kit...K-Sport Does not have a Part Number for A protege..According to K-Sport themslves.
I thought they would know what they sell/Make (dunno)

Notice how only Crossover Sells those for the Pro?
They may as well be for the pro..from the Probe..and Fit perfectly..but I want to verify this for sure before I order them.

Maybe I will hit up JDM Sam for his opinion and info.

Waiting to see how this pans out. I was about to purchase the mazdaspeed 6 caliper/rotor set to see if it works on out proteges, but something else came up.

I think the Ksport probe bbk will probably work. As probe/mx6/626 front brake systems are interchangeble.
