i always enjoy reading when people think our cars are great bang for the buck because i fully agree. i do think its a little odd for the MS3 to have tied for first place in performance with the EVO. i'd have thought the EVO deserved to win that category outright. they're pretty beastly.

Well it could be performance is being looked at as usable performance. The additional stuff the evo has over the ms3 is considerable but most of it is on track use or non daily driving, that could be how its being scored. Just a thought.

That and performance per dollar wise. The EVO is no doubt the better performer but it's also about 10k more.

if all the categories are judged per dollar it costs to buy the car, then yes, that makes sense. i just didnt see anywhere in the article that said they did that, so i'm assuming the ratings are based solely on performance, reliability, etc.

also, in the first paragraph, they say the cars are generally priced around $25,000. out of the 4 cars they reviewed, 2 had MSRPs of nearly $33,000.

I've never had the luxury to DRIVE an Evo, but I had a ride along in a friend's hooked up VIII. Performance aside, it was very loud, very rough, and makes me glad I got the speed3(2thumbs)

that doesn't mean I wouldn't love to tear through a track in one!

With the WRX starting at around 24k (compared to the other 33k ones), it should've gotten second place for affordability. And it got fourth?
