TO get the mirror covers off of the Door mirrors for sure?
I have been told they are removable...but no-one seems to know how to remove them.
I want to remove them when I paint the car in a couple of weeks.....so....
Anyone here know 100% for sure?
Can you even get them off without damaging them?

The painted sections do pop off. The actual mirror part can pop off and then you have access to the tabs holding the plastic cover on. If you don't feel like trying to remove the mirror part, just adjust the mirror all the way down and in, then you should be able to look in and see one of the tabs. Pop it out, then you can pry off the cover.

Just tape it off if you can't get them off, but yah it would be way easier to paint with them off. You should be able to move the mirror manually if you don't have power.

I had a friend who used thin pieces of metal (like aluminum or steel) and bent them into "L" shapes. He then slipped them past the mirrors and pulled out the mirror with those. Should help if you can't move the mirrors. Just make sure you don't pull too hard and fling the mirror - they break easily.

just take the mirrors off from the inside of the door panel. that's how i pulled them off of my old p5. it takes a little more work, but it does the job.

I want to seperate the painted section from the black section of the mirror to paint it.
Tapeing suck..Tape lines suck.
Its much better to pull as many parts as you can when painting for a much more professional job.
