Power Window lockout

The power window lockout locks the rear (sliding door) windows and passenger side window. Does anyone know or inquired if the lockout can be adjusted to lockout only the back (sliding door) windows thus allowing the front seat passenger the ability to open/close the window?

i don't think that is possible.. unless it is *hardwired*..

Obviously yelling at the kids is the best bet for the issue. However, you could always pop open the power window cover on the back doors and unplug them until they are old enough to stop messing with it. Im guessing the front controls for the back will still work since power is supplied through the door. If not, plug it back up and I was officially wrong but should work. You will need a flat screwdriver with a fine flat head as to not leave and marks and possibly a philips depending on how the switch is on the wire. Usually a push and snap on, but could be screwed on (im used to american cars).

I'd guess you can, but you will have to do some wiring at the lockout switch, or other location.

literally just disable their window buttons where they connect to the wires. on the sliding doors. nothing else needed :-)

Has anyone tested the contact points on the door? Because it is a slider, the control electronics have to connect through these points. I would imagine some electrical tape over the right contacts would disable the rear window switches.

Lol just thought of this:
Put a piece of black duct tape tightly over the back switches so it cant be used unless pealed off, if they are smart enought to peel it off they are smart enough to listen to you tell them no. What age of kids are we talking about here. My daughter is 3 and she knows better than to do that, plus she cant even reach it in her seat she is in.

I thought about that, but usually the door ajar switch is tied to the contacts as well, so covering all might end up in the door ajar light being on at all times.

or.. just take out fuse(s) for rear windows?????

Bad news,

The door contacts don't contain the window wiring. You can still roll down the windows with a door open... Perhaps fuses might work, but the owner's manual is a bit vague on the different power window fuses.

Am I going to have to tear my door apart and take pics just to get you guys to realize what Im talking about?

Remove switch from door panel, pop off wires (tape them up depending if wires are individually connected or part of a plug) put switch back on. problem solved.

if you put the driver in the passenger side all is ok... really I have never had an issue telling my children not to touch...but if thats the case just leave the window open until they beg you to close em
