Hello all. New to this forum. I've been trying to do research on these 40$ electric "superchargers" available on ebay and such. I can't seem to find any legit science to prove the hp/mileage claims. Has anyone tried one of these on a protege? Do they work?i.e any dyno tests? It seems it would interrupt the flow on my CAI, not necessarily help. 02 Prot5

yeah, those are useless pieces of crap. if i were you and i wanted to do that, i would go and get a leaf blower and a power inverter. at least that way you would get actual psi. you will still destroy your motor and look like a dip at some local car meets, but you might have some fun doing it. forced induction is a lot more complicated than a plastic fan on a 12 volt battery.

*Sigh* Bottom line, Dont buy it. worthless. Although the years ive been on this site I have no memory of anyone actually buying it and testing it so for that matter, have at it and let us know so we can lay this mystery to rest

Thanks all. That's what i figured. There is a guy at work who is gonna put one on his 05 matrix. I'll let you know what happens to his car. Me. I'm just gonna leave my CAI and go for a new header, then cat-back exhaust.

Actually a buddy of mine and I bought one. You can actually feel a tiny bit of air.... but hooked up to the car I didn't feel any difference.
