Now this sounds like a real interesting Mazda5/Premacy:
Rotary powered, dual fuel system (hydrogen & gasoline), lithium ion batteries for the electric motor:

Wow, forgive my ignorance, does it mean once charged, the car can go 125 miles without even starting the gas engine? How long does it charge?

I'm not totally sure, but I think it means that with only the hydrogen tank filled, the range is 125 miles. That's a pretty good range. But, there are 2 motors involved here: an internal combustion one [running on either hydrogen or gasoline], and an electric one. Over this range, both the IC motor and the electric are being used. The point is that this is the range without utilizing gasoline (i.e. only using hydrogen) as a fuel source in the IC motor.
