ok, so i searched and came up with great information, but not quite what i was looking for exactly. every thread i found involving these two piggy-backs was from back before the SSAFC offered timing control (and data-logging). so i'm looking for input, advice, suggestions, and opinions. which one is better, why, what made you pick it, etc.

Now i think about it...I'll have to retract my vote here. Havent personally had any experience with the V2 (just the V1) and frankly imo if someone doesnt have any exerience with both why would they vote? The only thing one would do is compare specs. Just my 2 centavos.

ive had both.

heres the thing... no piggy is going to work perfect on every car. each car acts differently and is modded as such. so in order to get the most out of your ems it will need to be retuned. with that in mind, the unichip is NOT user tuneable. I had the unichip and it leaned out from 5k up everytime cause my car was not the same as the original mapped one. However, with the afc v2 while its not a perfect tune, i havent run lean yet and i have yet to tune it. granted i have a lil stumble but thats expected when u change the car alot from a base map. I prefer how the afc uses a map sensor to reference boost unlike the unichip or other piggys who use tps, rpm, load etc.

yea the plug n play is nice but if u want my opinion go with the AFC v2 you wont be dissapointed

I say SS AFC, I have had both, finding a tuner off the list Unichip will supply isnt hard its a matter of finding a unichip tuner that would tune for the msp...alot along the east coast claimed to only tune higher end cars. Unless you lived near JDM Sam then you would be straight.

well i think i'm pretty well sold on the AFC. does the cheaper version (without timing control) have data-logging also? or is that only on the more expensive one? and does the one with timing control really make that big of a difference that it justifies nearly double the price?

the v2 logs, v1 doesnt. if ur not going for big numbers i wouldnt mess with the timing.

The Unichip is a great option for a mildly modded car that doesn't need additional tuning.

I got rid of mine because I no longer needed timing control and prefered to self tune the engine w/ the AFC.

great, so I'm assuming that the v2 is the more expensive one? I kind of need the datalogging since I plan in tuning the car myself and I don't have access to a dyno. If the cheaper version has datalogging (or is tunable without it) I'll go that route. I need someone to tell me which is v1 and which is v2.

actually theres 3, well i think its down to 2 since v1 was replaced by 2.

the v1, v2 and the FTC which does timing. i think based on what your saying the FTC is the expensive one, the v2 is the lower priced one. i dont think ken sells the v1 anymore anyhow since the v2 logs
