Nice writeup, but I have a question: how in the world is she getting 20.5 mpg with "some highway, some stop and go?" My daily commute is exactly that (30 miles one way, some highway, some stop-go), and in 5500 miles on the vehicle so far, I've YET to see anything in the 20s. On a couple tanks that were mostly highway miles, I think I saw 19.6 mpg. Normally I'm consistently in the 18s. And no, I do not drive it with a lead foot. She mentions driving with the manual mode - maybe that helps? Any thoughts?

Maybe the added weight for the AWD?

no idea about yours.
As stated elsewhere, we regularly get in the low 20's. Last long trip thru mountains with my leadfoot yielded 22 mpg WITH a 13.5 foot kayak on the roof.
