my friend is using one on his focus that we turboed with a 57 trim and a external gate. hes using a ebay turbo, mani, and wastegate the wastegate holds rock solid at 10 psi and he made 275 whp before his stock fuelpump started running out. so from my expierence so far they work fine

I have one as well, and it works. Keep in mind you get what you pay for.

Most ebay cheapie stuff that has moving parts is a no no. Everynow and again, you get something that works properly.

The wastegate is pretty simple... the only part that might fail is possibly the diaphragm inside, and if you're worried, get the knockoff WG and then order a real replacement diaphragm from Tial or TurboSmart. The other parts are just the metal housing and inside spring.

I was talking with the owner of LC Engineering and he won't use them after a bad experience but it sounds like some people are doing fine with them. Might be that there are several different Chinese wastegate makers out there and some are bad and others are good.
