Greeting fellow members.
You have a great site and I am honored to be a member.
I'll be picking up my BLK Mica MS3 either Monday or Tuesday.
I am not new to forced induction as I have a 02 Harley and a Novi powered 92GT.
Boy do I love torque. (drive2)
Anyway, I've already ordered a COBB intake, shifter bushings, and TRZ rear mount.
Up next is changing out the exhaust.
I've been reading numerous threads since I found this site 2 weeks ago and I'm still not sure which way to go.
I have also listened to numerous combos on Youtube.
I like the sound of Vibrant exhaust with the Corksport downpipe.
However, if I can get a similiar exhaust sound without spending about a grand I'm open to sugesstions.
What about a race pipe...does it accomplish much alone or do I need other parts to support it?
The downpipe seems like a nice upgrade also..any comments on this peice?
I just want to do exhaust one time and be done with it.
BTW...I also have to pass emissions.
Next mods:
Forged BPV
Boost gauge (which one best matches our stock gauges) ?
Gauge pod (what's available; pillar, column or both) ?
Sorry for being long winded but the mod bug has already bitten a chunk out of my a**.
Thanks for the replies. :)

im talking about sniffer.....
there is one exhaust you can run vibrant dp back exhaust this replaces second cat with hiflow cat in tespipe but im not sure you will pass emissions(sniffer) you should because you will still have two cats but one will be hiflow( not sure if it will work like stock one) ...sound is amazing

good choice....and tell us if you will pass emissions with one hiflow cat..... You have really been paying attention to details Wisnia. thats alright help. It seems that at least one of us have every exhaust set up available for the Speed 3 and some that are done hot rod style. Cut weld listen drive. repeat till satisfied. I would also like to know if I bolted a cat at the test/race pipe location, would it pass the sniff test?

There are ALWAYS talks about what will pass or not pass smog... but fact is all of our cars are too new to even need smog checks, so no one is getting close to that time of the first ever smog.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but i had heard a while back that the newer cars like our (not sure what year it started) can go 4 -6 years before smog? I have heard 4, 5, and 6 years. Not sure what applies or if thats a load of crap. But if i don't have to smog for 4 years then I'll fuckin dp-back that shit and not worry for the next 4 years!

Well it's 1 year in my neck of the woods.
wisniaPL..has me thinking.
I may have to go with a CB and TP and reinstall the stock MP for inspection.
Don't know if I the Vibrant midpipe will be a direct swap with the stock MP.
Anyone know?
BTW...who has the RP in stock?

I think It will pass but I cant guarantee(I hope)....stock rp wont work with vibrant because on one side(back side of the car) vibrant exhaust is connected by clamps.....I will be going with cobb catted tbe ,there is one tuning shop in my area that will pass nice cars even without cats (hippy)
Im still thinking that vibrant should pass who can find out??
In New york state its every year doesnt matter if vehicle is new....

Does anyone think a downpipe with a High Flow Cat and the Vibrant exhaust will pass the sniff test?

Maybe you misunderstood. The downpipe has a highflow cat. So with the Vibrant Exhaust attached to that would it pass?

Maybe you misunderstood. The downpipe has a highflow cat. So with the Vibrant Exhaust attached to that would it pass? i only have an opinion, and I would think you would be ok. But ask the manufacturer. surely they would know. Sometimes I wish I had bought a system that provided the high flow cat in place. But, my vehicle sees offroad use only! ha! If I find a highflow mid pipe that will pass emissions I will probably keep one around.

WisniaPl you where right about them not fitting. The CP-E downpipe actually has the test pipe together in one peice. So I wouldn't be able to use that downpipe with the Vibrant Exhaust.

told you .If any one worries about emissions (sniffer) get a test pipe and cut out resonators and muffles...so when you will have smission test put back second cat I think its the best exhaust recomendation.....

Fyi. Just wanted to put this out there. I just got the Greddy TI-C CBE and I love it! Note is absolutely awesome and head turning. Just stopping at a light puts most cars around me in "show-off mode".

Easy install, performance, can switch back if need be. And sounds. Oh yes, kind of inexpensive!

I'm going to do the dp/rp combo when I save up some more money.... but that's another issue. I really like the volume inside the cabin, and don't want a ton more noise when just cruising or accelerating gently. Unfortunately, I love the sound of the Boral and Magnaflow exhaust on this car. Anyone have any experience with either of these exhausts??
