ok, so i'm looking to buy a new intake mani and i have a few questions before i do it.... i'm going to get one with an EGR pipe, so i can keep my driveability in the winter. my questions involve the VICS/VTCS. since these manifolds don't have them, are there any issues with throwing CEL's? what do you do with all the extra parts? just block off the vacuum lines to the stock VICS/VTCS locations? i'm mainly (extremely!) concerned with CEL's, this is my daily driver and i need it to be reliable. also, part of PA emissions is that you throw no codes and show no CEL. if anyone can help me out with any information they have on these manifolds that would be spectacular! i'm looking at the one from ProtegeGarage, and also the one from S*****U**T. i've kind of already ruled out the one from Crossover because of the higher cost, core fee, and i just essentially like the design of the other two better.

As long as you leave the solenoids plugged in, but not seeing any vacuum, you are fine with CELs. The SU is an OEM 626 manifold, just like Protege Garage sells. Don't believe the hype.

Please search for further info. There are dozens of threads about the manifolds.

They're fine as long as you plug off the ports on them, or just loop them to themselves. They're still plugged into the wiring harness so the ECU thinks everything is great, and when it sends the signal to open/close the butterflies, the vac line just doesn't go anywhere.

i can't possibly believe that there is anyone out there anymore that truly thinks the manifolds are different.

hondanomore, got your PM and sent one back to you. if you have any questions about the manifold please let me know.

is there a diagram for the vacuum hose lines somewhere for the 626 mani.?

there really isn't as far as what we have. its pretty easy to plumb up, keep things as close to stock as possible. the VICS and VTCS no longer need vacuum sources so those ports on the manifold can be used for other things such as the AFC or the boost gauge.

you can reuse the solenoid brackets. thats what i did. they dont just hang there. unless u dont care. then they do. sadly.

and i think the 626 mani has one less port. the one for the solenoids is missing. cause i didnt have any extra. or it does and i have a really bad vac leak.

good to know that all the other vacuum sources are all there.... i just spent a good hour or so looking for the answer to this so i wouldn't get flamed for asking! LOL.... anywho, looking forward to receiving and installing new manifold, as well as being excited about more power!!! HO HO HO HO HO (toolman grunting)
