i belive that the kit is called tsi. its really bad. see the thing is2 years ago i paid this shop 20,000.00 to do work on my protege. turbo, pistons, cams, widebody kit, brakes like everything. they told me 400whp. i mean when i went in there i knew what i wanted and gave them a list. the finall results were a cheap turbo kit no internals a horrable paint job half of a widebody. and non stop problems so now i am trying to fix what they did. i should sue them. i just got it out of the shop to finish the wide body kit and it cost 10,000 cause the messed it up so bad. so ya i need all new parts

im calling bs.

no way anyone would be 20k for 400whp.

you could have bought a bug eye wrx, dumped the remaining 7-9k in the engine and have more than 400whp...

I'm going to have to agree with you on this one... unless he put one too many zero's in what he paid for it...?

2k would be more reasonable...

but 20k is just ridiculous

i dont think he put to many zeros, he put it in another post somewhere too

and he said 20K for everything not just the turbo kit and engine

whats everything?

20k is alot to be dumped into a car.

especially all at once.

well im sure the rims were maybe 2k and the widebody 1 grand
the turbo was 2.5k and the internals were around 1.5k prob
then the paint is 2k so either he got severely ripped off or hes lying

idk man, ask him lol

Honestly it takes nearly or more than $20k for all that with labor! I'd take them to court...I mean built motor parts receipt. Had to have a list of parts that were put in there.

If anybody can understand your situation, Damian (boostdprotegelx) can. Hell, if my best friend hadn't previously worked with my painter/bodyshop manager I would be rolling the dice when I chose a shop to get my exterior fixed.

I think the kit doesn't look too horrible, if you take it to a good body shop maybe they can try and reduce the gap between the body panels. I don't think those wheels compliment the dark color of the car, some dark silver or graphite/gunmetal rims would look better.

As for the turbo kit, it would be better off to start from scratch with a hi-boost kit and get it tuned by a knowledgeable company. Who knows how they set that kit up. If you want a recommendation, speedcircuit is one.
